Pillow Talk with Crystal Russell

Pillow Talk with Crystal Russell

Welcome to Pillow Talk, a series of chats with some of our favourite creatives, activists, artists and designers.

For our second instalment, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Crystal Russell (_crystalrussell). She first captured our attention with her prodigious dancing, but since getting to know this beautiful and sensitive soul we’ve fallen hopelessly in love. Whether it’s modelling, dancing, writing or filmmaking, Crystal is the ultimate creative.

Crystal shared with us everything from her experiences with sexual wellness to what’s on her nightstand.

Here’s a snippet of our chat.

What’s on your nightstand?

On my nightstand is my skincare, candle, my journal, my book I’m reading and my LBDO products.

What’s the last thing you do before you go to sleep?

The last thing I do before I go to sleep is read. I struggle with falling asleep a lot but whenever I read it helps me wind down mentally and physically.

Ideal date idea?

Getting yummy food, being around nature and also playing We’re Not Really Strangers, but mainly I’d hope that I’m in a good and stable mental place and it’s with someone I can connect with.

How do you take care of your sexual wellness?

I literally use my LBDO vibrator all the time and educate myself on women’s pleasure. Recently I’ve been taking a break from being with anyone intimately to explore my own pleasure and reflect on my experiences that didn’t leave me as fulfilled. And when I am with someone again I think the main thing is communication.

What’s something you wish you knew about sex when you were younger?

Get a vibrator asap.Who you choose to do it with is most important. That straight sex is dumb and isn’t all that exists. There is nothing wrong with me. It’s the misogynistic patriarchal world of misinformation that has convinced women’s pleasures doesn’t matter or is difficult and that’s not true at all.
